Central Street Crossing of Short Creek Design

The County of Mohave is seeking a qualified firm to provide professional civil engineering services for the design of a drainage crossing in Colorado City, Arizona. The project involves the upgrade and replacement of the existing Central Street crossing of Short Creek Wash, which overflows during large storm events, causing road closures and restricting access for residents. The selected consultant will advance the existing 30% design concept through final design, incorporating all necessary engineering, permitting, hydraulic analysis, and construction-ready documentation required for FEMA review and approval. The proposed design includes the installation of two 48-foot Conspan culverts, which will raise the Central Street crossing by approximately eight feet to safely convey the 100-year storm event beneath the roadway. • The project requires the preparation of a 100% design package, including project survey, temporary construction easement and drainage easement preparation, geotechnical investigation, utility relocation planning, and final construction document preparation. • The consultant must ensure that the final design complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and standards, including MAG standards. • The consultant will be responsible for obtaining a Nationwide 404 Permit and associated bio and cultural clearances, as well as a Conditional Letter of Map Revision. • The consultant must also provide post-design services, including as-built plan preparation, SWPPP closeout, and Letter of Map Revision.
