The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is seeking a satellite imagery subscription service to support its volcano science center. The service should provide daily imagery with on-screen analysis, allowing scientists to monitor volcanic activity and identify potential hazards. The subscription should include access to multispectral, moderate spatial resolution, near-daily satellite imagery sources, as well as tools for analyzing and manipulating the data. Some key features required include:
• Global coverage
• New daily imagery and access to image archive
• Spatial resolutions of 3-30 meters per pixel
• Spectral resolutions including NIR, SWIR, TIR, and microwave
• High temporal resolution (daily collections)
• Ability to remove cloudy images using a percent cover filter
• Manipulation of spectral bands to make multispectral images
• Low-latency (available for download within 24 hours of satellite pass)
• Images viewable online in a cataloged, tiled-image service
• Images downloadable at full resolution on an ad-hoc basis in GeoTiff, NTF, or other georeferenced format.
The contract will be for a period of six months, with the option to renew for the following fiscal year.
