FERC Comprehensive Assessment

Greenwood County is seeking qualified firms to perform a comprehensive assessment of the Buzzards Roost Hydroelectric Project. The assessment will evaluate the technical, environmental, and regulatory aspects of the existing hydroelectric facility and provide recommendations for improvements, compliance, and future development. This effort is intended to support the county’s long‑term energy strategy and ensure the project meets all applicable federal and state requirements. • Conduct detailed engineering analysis of the hydroelectric plant’s structures, turbines, and power generation systems. • Perform environmental impact assessments, including water quality, wildlife, and habitat studies. • Review regulatory compliance with FERC, state, and local statutes and prepare a final report with actionable recommendations.
