The Center for Functional Nanomaterials and the Co-design Center for Quantum Advantage are seeking expressions of interest from firms regarding an Ultralow Temperature Quantum Materials/Devices Measurement System. The system should be a cryogen-free dilution refrigerator with separate vacuum and radiation shield sets for two different types of measurements. The system must have a cryostat with an integrated high-field magnet, providing a ultralow base temperature, and must support electronic transport and optical spectroscopy of two-dimensional heterostructure devices and RF dielectric-loss characterization using high-Q microwave resonators for superconducting qubit materials.
Key features of the system include:
• A pulse tube cryocooler and compressor
• A cryostat and radiation shields
• A gas handling system
• A control and diagnostics system
• A bottom loading fast sample exchange system
• Experimental wiring and RF installation sets
• A cryogen-free magnet and optical access ports
The system must be designed for safe, user-friendly operation and must demonstrate a proven track record of low-maintenance, low-downtime operation.
