RFP: Biological Consulting

The City of Malibu is seeking a qualified consulting firm to serve as its “City Biologist,” providing comprehensive biological consulting services to the Community Development Department and Planning Division. The contract is a minimum two‑year professional services agreement that includes reviewing landscape documentation for compliance with local coastal and zoning codes, conducting roughly 38 plan reviews and 4‑8 site inspections each month, preparing biological inventories and assessments, tracking post‑approval habitat restoration, and acting as chair of the Environmental Review Board when needed. The consultant must maintain a principal biologist and assistant biologist as the single point of contact, respond to inquiries within one business day, and attend public meetings and city staff sessions.
