The West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation is seeking bids for a roof replacement project at the South Central Regional Jail. The project involves removing and discarding the existing roof system, including the roof membrane, flashings, coping, counter-flashings, and insulation, and installing a new 2-ply modified bitumen roof replacement. The contractor will also be responsible for raising curbs, plumbing stacks, utility lines, gas lines, and equipment supports to provide sufficient flashing height to meet manufacturer's requirements and accommodate new insulation thickness. Additional tasks include installing tapered insulation systems, modified bitumen base and cap sheets, and new shop-fabricated counterflashings, metal coping, scuppers, and downspouts.
• The project requires the contractor to maintain water tightness and provide protection at any openings in the roof left at the end of each construction day.
• The contractor must also verify that all roof drains and drain piping are unplugged and clear at the completion of the project.
• The manufacturer's warranty will be provided upon completion of the project.
• The contractor must employ certified mechanical and electrical contractors to remove and reinstall mechanical equipment and recharge systems as required.
• The contractor must also restore clamping rings and strainers and replace studs and nuts on all internal drain bowls.
