RFP SCHOOL GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

New Hanover County Schools is seeking proposals for school grounds maintenance services for the 2026-2027 school year, with an option to renew for up to three additional years. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing weekly lawn and ground maintenance services, including mowing, edging, trimming, and debris removal, for all New Hanover County Schools locations. The contractor must have a valid North Carolina Landscaping Contractors License and a valid North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services L & E License. The contractor will be evaluated based on their technical proposal, cost proposal, and experience with similar projects. Some key points to consider: • The contractor must provide all necessary equipment, materials, and labor to perform the services. • The contractor must have a staff member available to answer questions related to mowing, edging, blowing, and debris removal. • The contractor must submit a bi-weekly report to the NHCS Point of Contact, including dates of service, staffing, tasks completed, exceptions, and corrective actions. • The contractor must have insurance, including automobile liability, commercial general liability, worker's compensation, and professional liability. • The contractor must comply with all federal and state requirements concerning fair employment and employment of the handicapped. • The contractor must take affirmative action to ensure that all employees are treated without discrimination by reason of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or physical handicap.
