The County of Greenville is seeking sealed proposals from qualified contractors for the design, permitting, installation, testing, and acceptance of a new automatic fire sprinkler system and a new complete fire alarm system in an existing two-story fire station. The selected contractor shall serve as the single point of responsibility for both systems and may use properly licensed and qualified subcontractors as identified in the proposal. The project shall result in complete, coordinated, code-compliant, tested, and accepted fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems serving the entire station.
• The fire station is an active emergency services facility and is expected to remain operational during construction.
• The contractor shall evaluate the apparatus bay based on actual use, ceiling height, storage, vehicles, tools, equipment, hose, turnout gear, flammable or combustible materials, and other relevant conditions.
• The contractor shall provide a new listed addressable fire alarm system with a fire alarm control unit sized for the complete project and with reasonable spare capacity for future expansion.
• The contractor shall provide all electrical work, raceway, conductors, supports, penetrations, firestopping, patching, labeling, and finish restoration required for a complete installation.
• The contractor shall provide a complete closeout package at the conclusion of the project, including approved shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, product data sheets, material certifications, as-built drawings, and operation and maintenance manuals.
