Description
The County of Erie is seeking bids for the maintenance and coating of 64 existing inmate showers in the Erie County Prison. The successful bidder will be required to apply a protective coating to the shower walls and ensure that the work is completed within 20 days. The bidder must have experience working in a correctional environment and must ensure tool control and contraband elimination. The bidder will be responsible for supplying all necessary equipment and materials for the work and must work with Security Services to ensure that requirements are met in regards to inmate movement and access to programming and hygiene. Some key requirements include:
• The application of a Methyl-Methacrylate (MMA) primer layer, followed by a MMA base layer with full flake broadcast, and two layers of MMA topcoat to produce a smooth surface.
• The removal of the current coating from the shower walls to avoid adhesion issues and ensure that any structural issues are addressed.
• The application of a textured base to each shower pan area and ensuring proper drainage.
• Adequate air movement/ventilation must be added to assist with odor control in all working areas.
The bidder must also provide a warranty that addresses repair or replacement for product failure due to the installation of the product itself, and the length of the warranty.
