Sand Bypass Seasonal Operations

The State of Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is seeking professional services to operate the Indian River Inlet Sand Bypass Facility. The selected vendor will be required to supply labor, heavy equipment, and maintenance of supplied equipment during the operational seasons. The vendor will be responsible for moving and grading a minimum of 20,000 cubic yards of material per month from the South side beach using the sand bypass system. The scope of work includes installing intake pipeline and HDPE lines, operating and maintaining the equipment, and performing daily tasks such as pump/motor lubrication and eductor maintenance. The vendor must also ensure environmental compliance and maintain all required environmental and safety documentation. Some key points to consider: • The vendor must have experience with projects that involve similar dredging, shoreline nourishment, and pumping operations. • The vendor must have the capacity to mobilize, supply, and maintain the project within the scope described. • The vendor must have a proven commitment to safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance. • The vendor must be able to operate the project within the environmental time of year constraints, from Labor Day to Memorial Day. • The vendor must be able to maintain all required environmental and safety documentation.
