The National Park Service intends to award a cooperative agreement to create an online exhibit about the history of Fort Jefferson in Dry Tortugas National Park. The project will involve designing and developing an online digital exhibit, uploading digitized photographs and documents, and writing an interpretive essay. The recipient will be responsible for hosting and maintaining the digital exhibit. The project aims to provide public access to previously inaccessible cultural resources from the Dry Tortugas National Park archive.
• The project will be completed over a period of 14 months, from July 1, 2019, to September 30, 2020.
• The National Park Service will provide technical assistance to the recipient through the park archivist and museum curator.
• The recipient will be responsible for engaging undergraduate and graduate student interns in the project.
• The project will benefit the public by providing access to previously inaccessible cultural resources and will also benefit student interns by providing them with experience in web site design and cultural resource management.
