Description
The United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is seeking a commercial consultant to assess the global fertilizer supply chain dynamics, key production countries, and the South America market, with a focus on the potassium fertilizer market. The consultant will prepare two quotes, one for a report focused exclusively on the potassium fertilizer market and another for a report with an expanded scope that includes nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers. The quotes should include the time estimate and cost. The consultant's report should address various topics, including the overview of the potassium fertilizer supply chain, historical and forecast potash price, logistics and shipping cost benchmarking, and commercial viability for potash projects in Argentina selling to Brazil and potentially the U.S. The contractor should have the requisite expertise to consult on matters related to the items outlined in the statement of work or be able to subcontract to a firm that has extensive experience in the global and South America fertilizer markets.
• The consultant should have 10+ years of consultancy experience in the broader fertilizer sector.
• The consultant should be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance or higher and pass a DFC background investigation.
• The report should be due within six weeks of award.
• The period of performance is for 10 weeks, with the remaining 4 weeks intended for follow-up Q&A, discussion sessions, etc.
