HAULING & BENEFICIAL USE OF DEWATERING BIOSOLIDS

The Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties is seeking bids for the hauling and beneficial use of dewatering biosolids from its Wastewater Treatment Facility. The contract will be for an initial 3-year period with the possibility of two 1-year extensions. The successful bidder will be responsible for hauling and beneficially using approximately 700 tons of biosolids per week. The bidder must provide a copy of their New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Solid Waste Transporters NJDEP Registry Number with each bid. Some key points to consider: • The bidder must comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. • The bidder must provide a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the amount of 10% of the total price bid. • The bidder must submit a Certificate of Employee Information Report or a Letter of Federal Approval indicating that the vendor is under an existing federally approved or sanctioned affirmative action program. • The bidder must comply with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act and provide certified payroll records. • The bidder must maintain sufficient insurance to protect against all claims under Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Automobile.
