Description
The Birmingham Public Schools is seeking a contractor to perform a 2026 Roofing Program at West Maple Elementary School. The project involves removing the existing roof system, repairing or replacing the roof deck, and installing a new single-ply membrane and associated flashings. The scope of work includes demolition, roofing replacement, landscaping, and plumbing. The contractor will be responsible for acquiring and extracting test cut samples of the existing roof construction, identifying the presence of any existing asbestos containing roofing materials, and providing a detailed plan to ensure that the work will be accomplished in a safe and prudent manner.
• The project location is West Maple Elementary School, 6275 Inkster Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301.
• The total building envelope management solution includes a new roof system, flashings, and roofing-related sheet metal.
• The contractor shall plan to assist the owner with acquiring energy rebates related to roofing R-values.
• The contractor shall be aware of and responsible for following all local noise ordinances.
• The project includes selective demolition for roofing, cast-in-place concrete for roofing, cementitious wood fiber plank deck, and roof drains.
