INDUSTRY DAY – Willapa Harbor Maintenance Dredging

The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is hosting a Virtual Industry Day to provide additional information and gain feedback from industry on the upcoming Willapa Harbor Maintenance Dredging project. The project seeks to return three Federal Navigation features of Willapa Bay back to their authorized depths through maintenance dredging. The work is anticipated to begin in summer 2026 and will occur during the environmental in-water work windows. The project presents significant navigational hazards due to its exposed Pacific Ocean entrance, unmaintained channels, shifting shoals, and unpredictable weather. • The project involves dredging up to 180,000 CY from three features: Bay Center, Nahcotta, and Tokeland. • Additional dredging will occur in the Palix River/Bay Center Access Lane to provide dredge access to the Bay Center Federal feature. • The project has an estimated construction price range of $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. • The estimated duration of the dredging activities is 3-7 months. • The work windows vary by project features, with the Bay Center/Palix River work window being from 16 July to 30 September 2026, the Nahcotta work window being from 16 July 2026 to 01 February 2027, and the Tokeland work window being from 16 July 2026 to 14 February 2027.
