WALDEN WEST MODERNIZATION

The Walden West Modernization project is a comprehensive renovation of the Walden West Science School campus in Saratoga, California. The work includes demolition of two existing buildings (Buildings B & L) and a covered walkway, extensive site grading, new building pads, upgraded utilities, storm‑water management, new parking, fire‑apparatus turnaround, hazardous‑materials (asbestos, lead‑based paint, PCB) abatement, and interior‑exterior construction of a modernized dormitory, restroom/shower facility, shade structure, and amphitheater. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder holding a California Class B General Contractor license, with required performance and payment bonds. • Demolition, hazardous‑materials abatement, and site‑work (grading, utility upgrades, parking, fire‑lane). • New building construction and interior finishes (structural, MEP, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire‑suppression, finishes). • Required 550‑day construction schedule, 10 % bid security, 100 % performance & payment bonds, and compliance with California prevailing‑wage and safety regulations.
