RFP: 25262026 - Statewide Snow Avalanche Atlas

The State of Alaska, Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, is seeking a contractor to provide professional services for the development of a Statewide Snow Avalanche Atlas. The contractor will be responsible for data acquisition and analysis, GIS modeling and map production, aerial and satellite imagery review, field verification of avalanche paths, and development of updated avalanche path polygons. The estimated period for performance of the Agreement is approximately April 2026 to December 2027. Key aspects of the job include: • Data acquisition and analysis • GIS modeling and map production • Aerial and satellite imagery review • Field verification of avalanche paths • Development of updated avalanche path polygons based on 300-year return periods • Calculation and assignment of Avalanche Hazard Index (AHI) values • Compilation of all required atlas attributes
