Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking a replacement for their existing QIAGEN EZ1 instrument, which is being discontinued. The new instrument, QIAGEN EZ2 Connect, will be used for DNA extraction in forensic and clinical research. The instrument should have variable input volumes, be able to process multiple samples per run, remove inhibitory substances, and have variable elution volumes. The NIST intends to negotiate with Qiagen Inc. on a sole source basis.
Key features of the required instrument include:
• Variable input volumes for recovery from fired bullet casings
• Number of samples processed per run
• Removal of inhibitory substances to downstream applications
• Variable elution volume for optimum concentration of eluted DNA
