The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking bids from log buyers for the purchase of forest products from approximately 49 acres within Brooks Memorial State Park. The sale area is located 12 miles north of Goldendale, Washington, and the State recommends that interested bidders visit the site to evaluate the timber and review maps for complete sale details and logistics. The successful bidder will be required to purchase logs upon delivery to the location specified in their submitted bid. The logs will be delivered by the Seller's contract harvester, and the Purchaser is responsible for all weighing and scaling costs.
• The sale area is approximately 49 acres in four separate units.
• The sale area will be closed to the general public during active work.
• The sale boundaries are marked with pink "Timber Harvest Boundary" flagging.
• Riparian Management Zone boundaries are marked with Orange flagging.
• Cut/take trees over 8 inches DBH are marked with a band of blue paint across the sale area.
• The logging system is 100% ground-based harvest using conventional logging equipment.
• The management type is forest health thinning, and the goals of this treatment are to thin the stand, reduce the wildfire fuel load, promote healthy ponderosa pine and garry oak retention, and protect park infrastructure and "park-like" aesthetics.
