Description
The Town of Barre is seeking a qualified contractor to execute a comprehensive street‑improvement project on Fir Street. The scope includes installation of water mains, drainage pipes, fire hydrant, precast concrete curbs, catch basins, and reconstruction of roughly 1,100 sq yd of roadway, as well as traffic‑control services and associated site work. Bids are sealed and competitive, with the award expected to occur shortly after the September 10, 2026 bid opening.
• Install ~430 LF of 8‑in. ductile‑iron water main and related fittings
• Install 110 LF of 12‑in. HDPE drainage pipe, three precast catch basins, and 640 LF of precast concrete curb
• Reconstruct approximately 1,100 sq yd of roadway, including milling, paving, and temporary trench pavement
• Provide one fire hydrant, water‑service lines, and necessary traffic‑control staffing
• All work must comply with state/federal wage rules, HUD Section 3, MBE/WBE goals, and Buy‑America requirements
