Description

The Township of Middletown is seeking bids for tree trimming and removal services. The contractor will be responsible for removing dead, dying, diseased, interfering, objectionable, and weak branches, as well as grinding tree stumps and disposing of wood chips. The contractor must have at least one qualified tree foreman on every job and provide a list of employees and their credentials. The contract will be for a period of two years with the option for two one-year extensions. The contractor will be paid on an hourly basis, and the hourly rate must include all equipment, tools, materials, and labor necessary for the completion of the work. Some key points to consider: • The contractor must erect and maintain barricades, warning signals, and other warning devices at working sites. • The contractor must follow the specifications for pruning established by the Monmouth County Shade Tree Commission. • The contractor must grind stumps to a depth of six inches below the average ground level with a radius of ten feet. • The contractor is responsible for requesting utility markouts and coordinating with utility companies as needed. • The contractor must provide a 24-hour emergency telephone contact number. The bid must include the hourly rate for non-emergency and emergency response services, as well as any other costs associated with the work.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this contract is difficult to estimate, as it is an open-ended contract with no minimum or maximum amount implied. However, based on the hourly rate for non-emergency and emergency response services, the total budget will depend on the number of hours worked and the hourly rate bid by the contractor. The contract is for a period of two years with the option for two one-year extensions, so the total budget could be substantial. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include: The number of hours worked per year The hourly rate bid by the contractor The frequency and complexity of emergency response services required The cost of equipment, materials, and labor Assuming an average hourly rate of $100 per hour and an average of 1,000 hours worked per year, the total budget for the two-year contract could be around $200,000. However, this is a rough estimate and the actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on the factors mentioned above.
