The County of Alameda is seeking qualified forensic pathology providers to perform autopsies, toxicology, and related medicolegal services for the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau. The contract will be a three‑year, multi‑award agreement (up to three vendors) with an optional two‑year renewal. Services are “as‑needed,” covering roughly 1,200 cases per year, including full, limited, and complex autopsies, scene response, record review, and ancillary testing (histology, toxicology, imaging, etc.). Contractors must hold a California medical license, be board‑certified in pathology, and possess a forensic pathology fellowship or equivalent experience. Deliverables include timely autopsy reports (within 60 days, extendable 15 days), audio recordings, and secure handling of evidence. The County supplies facilities and equipment; the contractor may use its own. Evaluation will consider qualifications, technical approach, past performance, and cost, with a weighted scoring system.
