Description

The Schuyler County Legislature is seeking proposals for the ProcellaCOR application and monitoring of Lamoka and Waneta Lakes. The project involves the treatment of the lakes with ProcellaCOR to eradicate Eurasian Watermilfoil, and the treatment area consists of portions of the littoral zone in both lakes. The treatment goal is to maintain ProcellaCOR concentrations less than 8 ppb for 24 to 48 hours. The proposed ProcellaCOR treatment consists of liquid ProcellaCOR with a concentration ranging from 2 PDU/acft to 3 PDU/acft. The proposed treatment is scheduled for mid-June 2026, and monitoring will start one day after the initial treatment and continue until ProcellaCOR concentrations drop below 1 ppb. Key aspects of the project include: • Treatment of Lamoka and Waneta Lakes with ProcellaCOR to eradicate Eurasian Watermilfoil • Treatment area consists of portions of the littoral zone in both lakes • Treatment goal is to maintain ProcellaCOR concentrations less than 8 ppb for 24 to 48 hours • Proposed ProcellaCOR treatment consists of liquid ProcellaCOR with a concentration ranging from 2 PDU/acft to 3 PDU/acft • Monitoring will start one day after the initial treatment and continue until ProcellaCOR concentrations drop below 1 ppb

Budget estimate

$30,000 – $50,000

The budget for this project is not explicitly stated in the document. However, based on the information provided, it appears that the project involves the application of ProcellaCOR to control Eurasian Watermilfoil in the lakes, and the proposer is required to submit a proposal including the cost of the treatment and monitoring. The cost of the treatment will depend on the concentration and amount of ProcellaCOR required, as well as the labor and equipment costs. Assuming an average cost of $100 per acre for the treatment, and considering the treatment areas for Waneta Lake (43 acres) and Lamoka Lake (111.4 acres), the total cost for the treatment could be around $15,440 for Waneta Lake and $11,140 for Lamoka Lake, for a total of $26,580. Additionally, the proposer will need to consider the cost of monitoring, which could add several thousand dollars to the total cost. Therefore, a rough estimate for the budget could be between $30,000 and $50,000.
