OJJDP FY25 Family-Based Alternative Justice

The Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention is seeking applications for the implementation of new, and enhancement of existing, family-based alternative sentencing programs for parents/primary caregivers who are involved in or at risk for becoming involved in the criminal justice system. The programs will focus on rehabilitation, family unification, and family preservation, and will help parents avoid incarceration while strengthening their skills and capacity to care for their children long-term. The key aspects of this opportunity include: • Implementing new family-based alternative sentencing programs • Enhancing existing programs • Focusing on rehabilitation, family unification, and family preservation • Helping parents avoid incarceration • Strengthening parents' skills and capacity to care for their children • Preventing children from entering the foster care system • Reducing the likelihood of future involvement in the juvenile or criminal justice systems.
