Cremation Services for Department of Corrections

The State of Iowa, through the Department of Administrative Services on behalf of the Iowa Medical and Classification Center (IMCC), is seeking a qualified vendor to provide comprehensive direct cremation services for incarcerated individuals who die while in custody. The contract covers removal of the deceased from the correctional facility or the University of Iowa Hospital, transport to a crematory, execution of a direct cremation, handling and shipping of remains, and required documentation and invoicing. The award will result in a one‑year contract (June 1 2026 – May 31 2027) with the option to extend up to five additional one‑year periods, and the contract will be usable by all Iowa state agencies. • Service includes full‑service cremation (transport, cremation, packaging, shipping of remains, and paperwork). • Must comply with Iowa Administrative Code Chapter 100 (cremation regulations) and pass IMCC security screening. • All‑inclusive pricing required; payment terms Net 60, FOB Destination, Freight Prepaid; optional early‑payment discount. • Vendor must submit certifications, background‑check authorization, quarterly sales reports, and be able to accept Iowa’s P‑Card payments.
