PLANNING SERVICES FOR THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT

The Township of Toms River is seeking a licensed planner to represent the Board of Adjustment. The selected firm will review applications, plans, and maps to determine compliance with Township Ordinances and the Municipal Land Use Law. They will also prepare review letters prior to Board consideration and advise Board members on the legal aspects of applications during public hearings. The contract will commence on the date of award and will be for a period of 12 consecutive months. The Township may award one or multiple vendors under this contract, and the award will be based on the vendor(s) considered most advantageous to the Township. • The selected firm must have a minimum of 5 years of experience representing municipalities. • The firm must be familiar with the granting of variance and zoning requirements. • The firm must have experience with development and review of site plans. • The firm must have experience with municipalities with similar demographics as the Township. • The firm must be able to review applications, plans, and maps to determine compliance with Township Ordinances and the Municipal Land Use Law. • The firm must be able to prepare review letters prior to Board consideration and advise Board members on the legal aspects of applications during public hearings.
