Lowell National Historical Park, Passenger Platforms Replacement and Track Repair Work

The project involves the replacement of passenger platforms and track repair work at Lowell National Historical Park. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, tools, and equipment to repair trolley tracks, replace ties, and replace platforms at four stations. The project also includes the replacement of a wood fence at one of the stations. The contractor will need to temporarily relocate a display steam locomotive, coach, and associated catenary wire during the project. • The project requires the replacement of approximately 325 ties underneath the platforms at four stations. • The contractor will need to evaluate the condition of the ties under the concrete crossing panels and replace them if necessary. • The project includes the resurfacing of the track and the addition of ballast to lift and tamp the track. • The contractor will need to prepare a construction vibration monitoring plan and implement it during the project. • The project requires the submission of a management plan, including a narrative, pricing and scope information, project schedule, and other required documents.
