Description
The City of Rocky Mount is requesting proposals from qualified vendors to provide auto and truck tire services for City-owned vehicles and equipment. Services will include mounting, balancing, repair, replacement, and related work for various City-owned vehicles and equipment. The contract term will be for one year, with the option for renewal. The vendor will be required to provide services for a minimum period of six months and begin work within 30 business days of the effective date. The city reserves the right to make separate awards to different vendors for one or more line items, to not award one or more line items, or to cancel this RFP in its entirety without awarding a contract.
Key points to consider:
• The vendor must be able to respond to all city service calls between 7:00 am and 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, some Saturdays, and most holidays, and arrive within 2 hours of the call with the necessary equipment and parts.
• The vendor will need to be on site at the fleet maintenance between 7:00 am and 1:30 pm for at least 3 days to inspect one-quarter of the fleet's tires and make repairs or replacements as required, while on the premises.
• The vendor must provide a brief proposal that includes business information, service capabilities, pricing, response time, and references.
• The vendor must comply with all requirements and specifications stated in the RFP, including minority business participation and background checks.
