Description
The Long Beach Public Utilities Department is seeking quotations for whole backflow assemblies and backflow assembly repair kits. The contract will be for a term of one year, with the option to purchase different quantities at the proposed unit price. The award will be based on unit prices and percentage discounts, along with meeting specification requirements. Bidders must provide pricing for the services requested during the term of the contract, and the price quote shall include all charges. The bidder must also provide a catalogue with manufacturer list price and detailed data on the products to be furnished.
Some key points to note are:
* All parts in contact with potable water must be fabricated from approved no lead/ultra low lead material.
* Backflow assemblies 2-1/2” and greater must be flange by flange, and those from size ½” to 2” must have ball valve shut offs.
* All backflow assemblies must be on the list of USC Approved Backflow Prevention Assemblies at the time of sale.
* The bidder must provide written certification of compliance with these specifications with each delivery.
* The contract may be amended or modified except by written agreement signed by the parties.
* The awarded contractor shall carry on the work at its own risk until the same is fully completed and accepted.
* The awarded contractor shall procure and maintain at its own expense the required insurance against claims for injuries to persons or damage to property.
