The Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (BSA) is seeking expressions of interest from firms regarding the production of Dipole Magnets for the Electron Ion Collider (EIC) project. The EIC is a Nuclear Physics Facility that will create intense beams of relativistic energy electrons and ions in opposing particle storage rings. The project requires the production of 542 EIC ESR D1-D3 Dipole Magnets and 195 EIC ESR D2 Dipole Magnets. The RFI is for informational and planning purposes only and is not a commitment by the U.S. Government. The information from this notice will help the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Basic Energy Sciences (BES) survey available resources.
• The project involves the production of Dipole Magnets with specific technical specifications and requirements.
• The contractor must have the capabilities and past experience in producing Dipole Magnets.
• The contractor must have the capacity to support all magnets (both D1/D3 and D2).
