Description

The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) is seeking a consultant to develop a regional transportation vulnerability and resiliency plan for the Kansas City region. The plan aims to increase the community's ability to withstand, recover, and bounce forward from disruptive events such as flooding, drought, and extreme heat. The consultant will build on a phase one report and complete an inventory of existing assets, hazard identification, and risk assessment to produce a profile of regional risk. The insights from the assessment will be translated into actionable recommendations for infrastructure upgrades, emergency preparedness, and long-term resilience strategies. • The project involves developing a regional transportation vulnerability and resiliency plan. • The plan will identify key natural hazards and match them with assets at highest risk. • The consultant will analyze the asset inventory and risk assessment to produce a profile of regional risk. • The project will provide recommendations for infrastructure upgrades, emergency preparedness, and long-term resilience strategies. • The project will be integrated into existing planning tools such as the Transportation Improvement Program and ConnectedKC 2050.
