Description

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is seeking to procure NBS reagents and services from Revvity Health Sciences Inc. The Newborn Screening Program requires these reagents and services to test all infants born in the state of Colorado. The program has been using Revvity instruments and reagents since 2008 and has found that they meet the required standards. The sole source justification is based on the fact that Revvity is the only manufacturer and distributor of the required reagents. • The program has conducted research and found that no other vendor can provide similar services. • The cost of replacing the current instruments and reagents with new ones from a different vendor would be significant, exceeding one million dollars. • The program has evaluated other vendors but found that they cannot provide the required services at a reasonable cost. • The program has determined that the cost of the reagents and services from Revvity is fair and reasonable.
