Taxiway A West Extension

The Sanford Airport Authority is soliciting competitive, sealed proposals from interested and qualified firms to provide construction services for the Taxiway A West Extension project. The project includes extending Taxiway A to the west by approximately 3,950 feet, constructing a new taxiway connector, designing taxiway edge lighting and signage, modifying existing airfield electrical vault equipment, designing stormwater drainage infrastructure, relocating existing utilities, and installing new pavement markings. The work consists of constructing a new asphalt taxiway, demolishing existing asphalt pavement, constructing new asphalt pavement, drainage, grading, and pavement marking, as well as installing new LED airfield lighting and signage. • Extend Taxiway A to the west approximately 3,950 feet. • Construct new Taxiway A1, connector between Taxiway A and the runway end. • Design taxiway edge lighting and signage to accommodate changes the proposed taxiway extension. • Modifications to the existing airfield electrical vault equipment to support additional load. • Design stormwater dry retention pond for treatment of proposed pavement. • Design stormwater drainage infrastructure to accommodate proposed taxiway extension. • Relocate existing wind cone • Relocate or modify existing utilities as needed. The project requires a mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit, and bidders must submit their proposals electronically through the Owner's e-Procurement Portal.
