Description

The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking industry partners to commercialize its Anisotropic, multi-functional polymeric microparticles additives for polymeric formulation enhancement. The technology has the potential to be scalable to multiple kilograms and can be used with various materials, including epoxies, silicones, and acrylates. The method allows for the addition of multi-functional materials to the polymer microparticles, introducing properties such as magnetic or electronic responses. Potential applications include rheology modifier in DIW inks and multi-functionality additive to DIW inks and prints. • The technology is currently at the TRL 3-5 stage of development. • LLNL has filed for patent protection on this invention. • Companies interested in commercializing this technology should provide a statement of interest, including company name and address, point of contact, and description of corporate expertise and facilities. • The statement of interest should be directed to the Primary and Secondary Point of Contacts listed in the document.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $1,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate because the document does not provide information on the potential revenue or funding available. However, based on the technology's potential applications and the fact that LLNL is seeking industry partners to commercialize it, it is possible that the budget could be in the range of $100,000 to $1,000,000. This estimate is highly speculative and should be taken as a rough order of magnitude.
