Description

Los Alamos National Laboratory offers a PFAS‑free, highly sulfonated poly(norbornene) ionomer technology for use as an electrode binder in proton‑exchange‑membrane fuel cells and water electrolyzers. The material eliminates per‑ and polyfluoroalkyl substances, preserves catalyst activity, improves gas permeability, and provides tunable hydrophobicity to prevent flooding. The opportunity is a licensing solicitation, allowing firms to obtain exclusive or non‑exclusive rights to commercialize the technology, with a pending U.S. patent (LA‑UR‑26‑25232). Interested parties must submit a response by the deadline and negotiate licensing terms directly with LANL. • PFAS‑free ionomer binder for PEM fuel cells, electrolyzers, and related hydrogen‑energy devices • Proven performance at Technology Readiness Level 4 with a pending patent • Licensing model (exclusive or non‑exclusive) – no external development services requested • Target markets include transportation, stationary power, industrial hydrogen production, aerospace/defense, and more • Contact LANL licensing office for negotiations; no site visits or pre‑bid meetings noted
