Purchase of Methylation Custom Probes for sequencing

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking to purchase Twist Biosciences Methylation Custom probes for sequencing. The Mitochondrial Toxicology and Biology Group in the Mechanistic Toxicology Branch (MTB) requires these probes to support ongoing and expanding research in epigenetics, mitochondrial biology, and metabolism. The custom probes will enable highly targeted interrogation of methylation patterns in regions of interest, providing a scalable and cost-effective method for profiling DNA methylation. • The probes will be used for epigenetic research, translational studies, and biomarker discovery in rat models. • The institute currently lacks access to equipment to reasonably study the rat epigenome. • Acquisition of this product will support ongoing work in the group and gain insights more efficiently and at a lower cost compared to doing this type of sequencing in-house at NIEHS.
