The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) is seeking a Tunable Red Laser for the Materials Measurement Science Division (MMSD). The project requires a narrow-linewidth, fiber-coupled tunable 640 nm laser system to enable characterization of water-filled microcavities for on-chip nanoparticle sensing and their real-time analysis. The key requirements for the laser system include:
• Wavelength Performance - Center wavelength of 640 nm, tuning range of 637–642 nm, output power > 200 mW, and a mode-hop-free (MHF) tuning range of >20 GHz;
• Spectral Purity - Linewidth [5 us] of 600 kHz and frequency stability << 100MHz/K;
• Control Infrastructure - Fully digital control electronics with integrated CPU/FPGAs, a touch display, automated "Click & Lock" and "ReLock" software intelligence, and a dual-stage optical isolator (> 60 dB).
The resulting purchase order will be a Firm-Fixed Price award. Interested parties who regard themselves as capable of fulfilling these requirements are invited to submit a response to the Government for consideration.
