Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify potential sources that can provide a Quantum Network pluggable 4-channel superconducting nanowire single-photon detector (SNSPD) system. The system should meet specific technical specifications, including detection efficiency, power requirements, and operating conditions. The system will be used for quantum network metrology and should be able to operate continuously. The contractor shall provide a warranty for the system for 12 months after delivery. * The system must have four SNSPDs with detection efficiency of >80% for wavelengths between 1300 nm and 1600 nm. * The system must operate at 110V/15A without water cooling. * The system must be able to operate continuously (24/7). * The fiber connection to the system must be SMF28 with E2000 bulk-head connector. * The system must be able to be operated through the quantum network from a remote client. * The contractor must provide a command library to fully control the system using python.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate because the document does not provide a specific budget or pricing information. However, based on the technical requirements and the fact that the system is a specialized piece of equipment for quantum network metrology, the budget could be in the range of $500,000 to $2 million. This estimate is based on the assumption that the system is a complex and highly specialized piece of equipment that requires significant research and development, and that the contractor will need to provide a high level of expertise and support to ensure its successful operation.
