Description

The City of Raleigh is seeking a qualified firm to provide engineering services and preparation of contract documents for Phase II of the Downtown Pedestrian Safety Improvement Project. The scope includes developing civil plans, pavement marking and signing plans, flatwork details, traffic control plans, sedimentation and erosion control plans, stormwater plans, onsite survey, private utility investigation, specifications, and project special provisions. The final construction package will include signed and sealed survey documents, existing conditions plans, tree protection plan, site plans, and all relevant standard detail sheets and general notes necessary to support construction. The project aims to enhance safety by designing and constructing 10 raised crosswalks at existing midblock locations and installing curb and/or pavement marking/delineator bump-outs at multiple intersections. • The project is expected to last 365 days. • The City of Raleigh will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by any firm in the development of a response to this Request for Qualifications. • The City reserves the right to reject any or all submittals for any reason and to waive any and all informalities and/or irregularities. • The selected consultant will need to coordinate the raised crosswalk design with HNTB as they are responsible for the design of 3 raised crosswalks in Downtown Raleigh within the New Bern Avenue BRT limits.
