Description
The City of Alexandria’s Gas Department is soliciting qualified contractors to provide comprehensive natural‑gas pipeline welding services, including new construction, repairs, emergency response, and specialized operations such as hot tapping and custom fabrication. The contractor must be able to mobilize quickly, adhere to API 1104 and 49 CFR Part 192 standards, and submit detailed welding documentation. This contract is initially for one year with the possibility of two additional one‑year extensions.
• Perform pipe welding, tie‑ins, fabrications, and pressure‑containing welds on steel gas mains and services.
• Provide 24/7 emergency repair capability with a 2‑4 hour response time.
• Submit welding procedure specifications, qualification records, and coordinate non‑destructive testing as required.
• Meet insurance, licensing, and diversity (AFEAT) requirements, and maintain a strong safety record.
