RFQP - 26-001 As-Needed Materials Testing Services

The City of Jackson is seeking a qualified consulting firm to provide as-needed materials testing services for the 2026 and 2027 construction season projects. The scope of work includes concrete testing, HMA testing, soil testing, pavement cores, and soil borings. The selected firm will be required to perform testing in accordance with the Michigan Department of Transportation's Standard Specifications for Construction and provide test reports in a timely manner. The firm will also be required to have technicians with the necessary training, certifications, and licenses to perform the required tests. • Concrete testing: field testing, compression testing, and preparation of concrete cylinders • HMA testing: collection of HMA samples, lab testing, and performance of compaction tests • Soil testing: sampling and testing to determine maximum density and optimum moisture content • Pavement cores: coring of pavement to determine thickness and base material type • Soil borings: sampling and testing of subsurface soils to determine soil types, classifications, and depths
