Firewall Upgrade and Implementation

The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking a next-generation firewall solution to enhance and modernize its perimeter and segmented network security infrastructure. The proposed solution must meet or exceed performance, capacity, and functionality benchmarks outlined in the RFP. Key requirements include high availability and redundancy, CJIS and PCI DSS compliance, traffic network segmentation, and integration with identity and logging systems. The selected vendor will provide a fully implemented, tested, and documented next-generation firewall solution. • The solution must provide scalable performance and redundancy across core, public safety, and edge environments. • The solution must integrate with the City's existing and planned infrastructure, including Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and centralized SIEM platforms. • The solution must enable clear segmentation and compliance with CJIS, PCI DSS, and other regulatory requirements. • The solution must support centralized management, logging, and reporting to enhance network visibility and operational efficiency. • The solution must allow secure expansion to future network segments, such as SCADA or other specialized systems, without requiring wholesale replacement of hardware or licenses.
