S222--HAZARDOUS WASTE PICK UP AND DISPOSAL

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide hazardous medical waste pickup and disposal services at the Asheville VA Medical Center, Franklin CBOC, Rutherfordton CBOC, and Hickory Community Based Outpatient Clinic. The contractor will be responsible for collecting and disposing of hazardous medical waste in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. The contract will be for a period of one year, with options to renew for up to four additional years. The scope of work includes: - Collecting and disposing of hazardous medical waste - Providing training to VA staff on proper handling and disposal of hazardous medical waste - Maintaining accurate records of waste collection and disposal - Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations The contractor will be required to have experience in handling and disposing of hazardous medical waste, as well as the necessary equipment and personnel to perform the work. The contractor will also be required to provide proof of liability insurance and workers' compensation insurance.
