Description

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) is issuing a small‑purchase RFQ to acquire 100 new Motorola MOTOTRBO R7 UHF full‑keypad portable radios, each equipped with intrinsically safe batteries, stubby antennas, chargers, belt clips, and an encryption license. The radios must support Wi‑Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, over‑the‑air programming (OTAR) and be fully programmed to interoperate with WSSC’s existing UHF radio system. The contract also requires a five‑year accidental‑damage protection plan, programming services, and delivery to WSSC’s Laurel, MD support center. The award will go to the lowest responsive and responsible vendor that is an authorized Motorola Solutions channel partner and can provide a nearby authorized service center. Delivery, testing, documentation, and warranty compliance are part of the scope. • Quantity: 100 fully configured R7 radios with accessories • Must include HazLoc batteries, stubby antenna, charger, belt clip, encryption license, and 5‑year ADP coverage • Vendor must be an authorized Motorola Solutions reseller and have an authorized service center (within 15 mi or provide no‑cost pickup/return) • All equipment must be new, genuine Motorola, programmed for WSSC’s UHF infrastructure • Delivery to 14501 Sweitzer Lane, Laurel, MD 20707; F.O.B. destination • Award based on lowest price; contract is a one‑time purchase, valid until all items are delivered and accepted.

Budget estimate

$70,000 – $100,000

Based on typical market pricing for Motorola MOTOTRBO R7 radios with accessories, each unit (radio, battery, antenna, charger, belt clip, encryption license, and programming) can range from $650 to $900. Multiplying by 100 units yields an estimated contract value between $65,000 and $90,000. Adding the five‑year accidental‑damage protection plan (approximately $150‑$250 per unit) pushes the total to roughly $70,000‑$100,000. Therefore, the likely budget for the winning vendor is in the low‑to‑mid six‑figure range, contingent on negotiated unit prices and any volume discounts.
