Description

The Burlington City School District is seeking a vendor to provide new Category 2 (Cat‑6) network cabling and install it across the district using equipment supplied by the district. The work includes removal and disposal of existing cabling, installation of up to 47 runs (each ≤ 300 ft), and compliance with federal FCC restrictions and state procurement certifications (SPIN, SPAC). All proposals must be submitted via email by the stated deadline, and the vendor must supply all costs in a single, all‑inclusive price. • Provide brand‑new Cat‑6 cable (no refurbished or open‑box material) and install up to 47 runs, each no longer than 300 ft. • Remove and properly discard the replaced cabling. • Meet FCC Order 19‑121 requirements (no prohibited manufacturers). • Include valid SPIN and SPAC documentation; failure to do so disqualifies the proposal. • Submit a fully priced, all‑inclusive proposal by 2026‑02‑25 via the two listed email contacts.

Budget estimate

$75,000 – $120,000

Based on 47 runs of up to 300 ft, new Cat‑6 cable costs roughly $0.25‑$0.35 per foot ($75‑$105 per run). Labor for pulling and terminating cable is typically $4‑$6 per foot ($1,200‑$1,800 per run). Adding disposal, travel, and overhead, the total project cost likely falls between $75,000 and $120,000. This range reflects variability in labor rates, exact run lengths, and any additional equipment rentals.
