Industrial Welding, Fabrication and Repair Services

The City of Newport News is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide industrial welding, fabrication, and repair services on an as-needed basis. The services may include aluminum or steel railing repairs, fabrication and installation of custom pieces, welding repairs, and other repairs as needed. The contractor must have a minimum of five years of commercial experience in Tig, Mig, and stick welding and must provide labor and materials for on-call services. The contract will be for a period of one year with the option to renew for four additional one-year periods. Key points to consider: * The contractor must have a Certified Welder (CW) certification through the American Welding Society (AWS) * The contractor must provide an itemized list of items needed for the job, including parts, materials, and supplies * The contractor must respond to normal working hour requests within 24 hours of notification and to emergency calls within 2 hours of notification * The contractor must provide a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and maintain workers' compensation insurance * The contractor must comply with all federal and state statutory regulations pertaining to workers' compensation requirements * The contractor must provide a completed W-9 form and certify that they are not currently debarred or suspended by a local, state, or federal government entity from doing business with that entity
