CDC AFM case classification

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Emory University for the classification of Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM) cases. The contractor will review MRI images and medical documents to determine whether patients under investigation are consistent with AFM case definitions. The contractor will also provide expert consultation and evaluation of AFM cases, including classification of cases and expertise in determining risk factors and potential etiologies. Some key points about this opportunity include: • The contractor will use the Ambra image cloud platform to review MRI images and medical documents. • The contractor will complete an MRI abstraction and classification worksheet for each report reviewed. • The contractor may participate in projects related to defining specific imaging characteristics of confirmed cases of AFM. • The contractor will present during Clinician Outreach and Communication Activity (COCA) Calls to improve clinicians' AFM awareness, detection, and reporting.
