Scrap Tire Collection, Removal and Processing Services

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities (WSFCU) is seeking letters of interest for the operation of a scrap tire collection center located within the City of Winston-Salem. The purpose of the services is to provide scrap tire collection, removal, and processing services to the citizens of Forsyth County. The contractor will be responsible for operating the collection site, loading tires into trailers, transporting and processing tires to an appropriately permitted facility, and complying with all applicable regulations. • The collection site will be open to the public for a minimum of five days per week, 8 hours per day. • The contractor will provide up to 4 trailers at the Landfill location at all times. • The contractor will be responsible for identifying appropriate management options for each type of tire accepted and reusing or recycling as much of the material as possible. • The contractor will be required to obtain all necessary permits and comply with environmental regulations. • Technical assistance, customer service, and public relations messaging will be required to assist the public in determining the appropriate disposal methods for various waste types.
