The City of Homestead is seeking qualified contractors to replace the electromechanical protective relay on Generator #17 with a solid‑state GE 889 digital relay. The scope includes removal of the existing relay, fabrication and installation of a metal mounting plate, wiring, configuration of protective settings, comprehensive testing, commissioning, and delivery of as‑built documentation. The award will consider price, qualifications, relevant experience, and ability to meet the schedule; price alone will not determine the award. • Replace electromechanical relay with GE 889 digital relay • Fabricate and install mounting plate • Rewire CT, PT, lockout, and trip circuits to the new relay • Program and document relay protection settings • Perform functional, secondary injection, and acceptance testing • Provide full as‑built drawings and commissioning reports • Must submit fixed, firm price and meet all licensing, insurance, and E‑Verify requirements • Pre‑site visit (non‑mandatory) on August 31, 2026; quotation due September 3, 2026, 2 PM EST.
