Blackwater Property Hunt Club Lease

Isle of Wight County is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to establish a contract through competitive negotiations for the Blackwater Property Hunt Club Lease. The contract shall be for one year beginning on the date of execution of the agreement and ending on June 30, 2027. The selected hunt club will be required to maintain trails/roads year-round, open/close gates during the hunting season, and abide by a Conservation Easement. The hunt club will have access to the property on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during Archery Deer Season, Muzzleloader Deer Season, and General Firearms Deer Season, as well as Spring Turkey Season. • The contract is for a one-year period with an option for the County to extend for five additional and successive one-year terms. • The hunt club will be required to pay an annual fee for the lease of the property. • The hunt club must comply with all regulations of the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) unless otherwise stated. • The hunt club must maintain the trails/roads year-round and open/close gates during the hunting season. • The hunt club must abide by the Conservation Easement, which includes areas with special restrictions such as no constructing or placing of improvements, no constructing or placing of roads or utilities, and no removal of native trees or vegetation.
